The Nova 5X is worth considering if one headset needs to cover several gaming systems and everyday mobile use.
A compact USB-C dongle handles platform connections, while a button tap switches between 2.4GHz gaming and Bluetooth for calls or media.
Its strongest buying case is convenience over setup changes: the headset has on-ear controls for power, mute, volume, ChatMix, and wireless switching, alongside 100+ game audio presets in the companion app.
Buyers who mainly want a single-platform headset may not need all that flexibility.

Who Should Buy Arctis Nova 5X?
Good fit
Choose the Nova 5X if you regularly move between Xbox and other gaming systems, or want one headset that can also connect with a phone or tablet.
Its compact USB-C dongle and Bluetooth switching are designed around multi-device use.
It also suits players who want game-specific audio starting points and controls close at hand. The app offers presets for popular games, while headset buttons handle mute, volume, ChatMix, and wireless switching.
The long battery rating and fast-charge option make it a practical candidate for frequent play sessions, especially when charging time is limited.
Who should skip it
Skip it if you need noise cancellation as a defining feature; the Nova 5X’s supplied feature set centers on audio presets, wireless switching, and a retractable microphone instead.
A single-platform player who will not use Bluetooth, app presets, or the headset’s multi-system connections may have little reason to pay attention to its extra flexibility.
Arctis Nova 5X Review Analysis
Multi-system setup
The compact USB-C dongle is the central convenience for buyers with more than one gaming platform.
Xbox support is included alongside PC, PlayStation, Switch, Meta Quest, and mobile devices, so the headset is positioned to follow a changing setup rather than stay attached to one system.
Wireless modes and daily use
A tap switches between 2.4GHz gaming and Bluetooth 5.3, and incoming-call beeps can alert players while they game.
That combination is useful for people who move between game audio and phone media, though it still involves actively switching modes.
Presets and microphone
The companion app’s 100+ game presets give players choices for tailoring game audio, while the retractable ClearCast 2.X microphone can be put away between calls or multiplayer sessions.
A microphone specification alone is not a reason to assume how well calls will come through in a noisy setting.
Battery and charging
A 60-hour battery rating is a standout practical feature for players who prefer fewer charging breaks.
USB-C fast charging is also described as adding six hours of use in 15 minutes, giving the headset a useful top-up option when a full charge is inconvenient.

Is Arctis Nova 5X Worth It?
The SteelSeries Arctis Nova 5X is worth considering for players who want a wireless headset that can move between Xbox and several other platforms, while also switching quickly to Bluetooth for calls or media.
Its app presets, on-ear controls, retractable microphone, and long battery rating give it a practical, feature-rich role in a multi-device setup.
Buy it if those conveniences match your setup and you expect to use the platform range, presets, or charging flexibility.
If you need active noise cancellation, or would leave most of its connection and app features unused, a different headset may suit your priorities better.
